Believe me I ask myself the 'what am I doing here?' question often, especially from October to March (who am I kidding I ask that question every day of every month of the year)!
I promise you........ there is a very good reason!! Answer the following question
What does CP have in common with highly esteemed individuals such as Naomi Wolf and Bill Clinton?
I am in fact, a Rhodes Scholar (gasp!!) and I may be the first filofax loving one at that!!
Common reactions to this revelation vary from ('Excellent, well done you' to 'how could you accept that blood money') so I will leave you to be the judge of that. However I would say that most of us are fairly normal individuals (who may harbour dreams of saving the world- although I have to admit there are a few outliers who are extremely hard work). I shall now share some pics of the lovely Sunday afternoon I spent catching up with other Rhodies from my time :-) It was really a trip down memory lane.

It was a really lovely afternoon and I was glad that I went. It was great to meet the new Warden and the non Trivial pursuit quiz was fun (not that I knew any of the answers but the trusty iPhone came to my aid). The Trinity Singers from Johannesburg were also delightful (really amazing young people with such beautiful voices). And I enjoyed having a good old snoop around Rhodes House and the Warden's garden (nothing much had changed!)
So my secret is out now....... (and hopefully I will be forgiven). For those who may be interested check out the website of the Rhodes Trust here for more information on applying for the scholarships.
I shall leave you with some funny Bill Clinton quotes
"What's a man got to do to get in the top fifty?" –Bill Clinton, reacting to a survey of journalists that ranked the Monica Lewinsky scandal as the 53rd most significant story of the century.
"When I was in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn't like it. I didn't inhale and never tried it again." –Bill Clinton
"Being president is like running a cemetery: you've got a lot of people under you and nobody's listening." –Bill Clinton
Have a wonderful day!!
