Here is a description of my handbag from the Fiorelli website.
"The Virginia large hobo is a great bag for any woman to own. Its simple and sleek shape ensures that it sits perfectly with work or casual attire, whilst the quilt detailing and vintage inspired lock fastening give it a stylish flair."
This bag is out of keeping with my usual taste in handbags as I usually prefer understated, simple bags but I really like the gold on it which should be perfect to liven up a plain outfit.
Anyhoo here it is.
| Fiorelli Virginia tote. |
I should mention for satchel fans that this also comes in a satchel version which is lovely but way too small for me! The tote is very large and DH's head fits inside very easily ;-)
There are two main compartments inside as well as some internal pockets and an open external pocket (which you can see in the picture). It comes with the Fiorelli lining which I like.
And this is what I crammed into it.......
| Stuff, stuff, stuff! |
♥ Back row. iPad, book of the moment 'The Happiness project', Nica purse, iPhone/iPad charger, Radley umbrella, bottled water.
♥ Front row. Filofax pocket Flex, iPhone, hand towel, keys, headphones, smarties, Ciccia mirror, hand cream, E45 cream, Ciccia makeup bag.
Afterwards I added my contact lens case, glasses case, painkillers (just in case) and a magazine. There was still a lot of space left but my shoulder probably couldn't cope with a heavier bag!
What's your favourite bag at the moment? Also would you buy a Fiorelli bag? Please share in the comments and have a great day!
P.S. I am telling myself that this should be my last bag purchase until December as I need to save for a Mulberry! I have now fallen in love with the Daria hobo as well as the Bayswater :-( I hope I can be good but I will need encouragement from you guys.

I love this post! Nice bag ... I'm not usually a fan of lots of hardware, but there is something about this one that totally works.
I am NOT going to try to enable you to buy early on the Bayswater, but I'm here to tell you, I am TOTALLY into that bag. When it first got here, I was, to be truthful, underwhelmed. But you see the beauty in the simplicity quickly, and I love everything about it now. I am actually considering selling my other two black bags and buying a black Bayswater to replace them! This thing is huge, but not overwhelming (even on my small frame), completely holds its shape beautifully, and you can see everything inside when you open the flap. Everything! This is not a black-hole bag .... I've never had anything so commodious and accessible in one. I am in love, I tell you. You will be, too. Perfect for those of us who will only carry large bags, and the leather ... perfection. So save hard! Maybe you can get it a wee bit earlier. Worth it! Worth every penny, worth the wait. You are gonna love it! (well, if you choose it over the Daria ... heh) (and sorry for being such a Mulberry cheerleader!)
Love this bag and blimey I thought I carried around loads of stuff with me. I really like the quilting/buckles really nice features x
This bag is lovely, dear lady. I think I could easily fit into, too.
So this is what you carry around with you when on holiday;-)
Am trying to reduce my bag load lol. Unable to give advise on the Mulberry bag. Most of my bags are antique or vintage lol. Terribly unfashionable, I know!
Great bag!
And I'd LOVE to have a Mulberry... Unfortunately with my big move and everything, I won't be able to save up for it. But please definitely let me/us know when you get one... I love their bags.
Are Smarties painkillers? What's your favourite colour?
Nice bag...
YAY you checked your DH head fits, its the best test, but i usually do it on my self bf wouldnt do it :-(
Have you watched whats in my bag videos on youtube, there so interesting look for some Daria ones or maybe Bayswater, i think that will make you want one more and you will save more!
The bag is lovely and so is your post, maybe you should do a video to go with it ;-) hehe xxx
Wow! Nice bag. I want to help you and not be an enabler. I know how it is - you really want a bag but shouldn't do it and you want someone to talk you out of it. However, being as I'm denying myself a new bag at the moment, I have to persuade somebody! ;)
I wanted to buy myself a new Coach bag for my birthday. I got a 30% off coupon. But I have so many other things I NEED to buy that I talked myself out of it. I didn't even go in the store, because you know, that's where the trouble begins. Instead, I bought myself FriXion pens, much cheaper than Coach would have been, though not nearly as satisfying.
I'm planning on doing another bag post once my new glasses arrive.
Oooh, fun! I really need to do one of these- it's even written in the Filofax!
I would enable, but I am very cheap when it comes to bags. My most recent one was on clearance for $12 at Target. I love expensive handbags, I just can't justify buying them! Now messenger bags are another story, although that got settled when I splurged on a Chrome.
Hmmm, the post ideas!
Love the bag! Is there any reason why you carry a hand towel? I've heard that blow dryers are bad for your health and wondered if this was the reason?
Can't wait to read all about your Mulberry when you get it - I have to live through other people with some of these purchases at the moment!
I couldn't stop laughing when I read that DH's head fits in the bag :) It's good to check these things!
Your bag is amazing and it can hold so many stuff! Unbelievable. I have made a resolution to buy only small bags from now on, I always carry around so many stuff and my bags are so heavy! I'm sure it's not good for the spine.
At the moment I'm obsessed with Cambridge satchel company, I want a purple satchel now and I also want Anya Hindmarch's Jethro. Both very pricy so probably I won't have them.
Roanne you make me want it more! Doing some serious calculations but I think I would choose the bayswater over the daria hobo as it is so classic. I can see why you want the black which is the colour I would choose. Looks like no more handbags for me for a while as I have to pay for 2/3 of my trip to Singapore with DH in August. Before he bought his new car he used to fund it completely (i.e. the last THREE times!) Isn't my life hard :-( just kidding.
Thanks Loulou. It was you who introduced me to the wonders of Fiorelli! How are you enjoying your Modalu.
Thanks Fashion. You have such great taste. I have no idea where you get your lovely stuff from! Does it take a lot of patience to shop vintage?
Thanks Kathiza. I am hoping to get it as a gift my bday/christmas in December provided everything remains ok and no shocks financially! It is just a want not a need so I could very easily live without it!
Haha Steve smarties are very effective. Especially at certain times of the month ;-)hehe too much info!
Imy it is such a great test I think!I shall go and look for some videos which will only fuel my obsession.
Kanalt I look forward to your post. You are right I dont need it. But if it is a gift that is not too bad is it now?
J just read you post and loved it too! I am not familiar with Chrome as a brand so I will check it out!
Alison my hand towel is because I always run out of napkins and it is useful for large spills or if parts of me get soaked in the rain! I don't have a problem with blowdryers. Mulberry won't be until December..... hopefully!
Angeliki I think I shall start getting smaller handbags now too. I really dont need another big bag (well except for the Bayswater) The cambridge satchel company is great but thank goodness I am not such a big fan of satchels.
It's hard to get the Bayswater out of your head isn't it? Your makeup bag and purse are both very pretty :)
Alannarama it is! I am such an obsessive person. When I bought my house I had to decorate everything quickly. I bought loads of interiors magazines, read home blogs etc. For my wedding I was the same although I was never a bridezilla. But I had to organise EVERYTHING.
Now it is this bag. Sigh, there is something wrong with me. What will I be like if I get pregnant? I tell you. I would start planning nursery decor, read all baby books, reread my obgyn and peds texts. It would be ridiculous.
Anyways are your exams now over? Are you excited about starting as Dr Alannarama in August? I have missed your comments.
I swear I left a comment on this post...what a GORGEOUS BAG!!
You do know that your Filofaxes sit at home and cry, right? ;O)
Um...interested in the story about how you know that DH's head fits inside your bag...
yes they're over now. i had to do an extra OSCE - bit of a bummer. it went a lot better than the first one, but they put the marks of both together, it's not a clean slate resit, so still have to wait and see if i scraped through or not. results next week.
you should come hang out on tpf, obsession is better when shared :D
(if i DO pass i am totally blowing the non-bills portion of my first paycheck :D :D)
haha Rori. It is because he actually tests it out for me! He does it with each new purchase.
Alannarama I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Email me and let me know so we can hopefully celebrate! Is TPF the purse forum? If so, it is deadly for me haha so I try to avoid. And if you do pass you TOTALLY deserve to celebrate! yay!
